The Garfield Movie’s Voice Cast & Character Guide: Who Stars In Chris Pratt’s 2024 Movie

Summary

  • The Garfield Movie, premiering in 2024, centers around Garfield’s reunion with his biological father.
  • Featuring a star-studded cast including Chris Pratt, the film is the franchise’s first animated theatrical release.
  • Despite mixed reviews, the movie is expected to be a box office hit due to its family-friendly themes and famous cast.

The first animated theatrical release based on the iconic lasagna-loving cat, The Garfield Movie, features a cast full of well-known names, including Chris Pratt, who voices the eponymous character, Garfield. The 2024 animated adventure comedy film, directed by Mark Dindal and written by Paul A. Kaplan, Mark Torgove, and David Reynolds, tells the origin story of how Jon Arbuckle found and adopted the orange tabby cat when he was a kitten. However, the central plot of The Garfield Movie revolves around Garfield’s reunion with his biological father and the dangerous heist the older street cat gets his son (and Odie) into.

The Garfield Movie
premieres on May 24, 2024, in theaters.

Of course, The Garfield Movie is the latest installment in the decades-old franchise and is based on Jim Davis’ famous comic strip series (and the Garfield creator even gave Pratt’s voice in the film a perfect score). There have been different adaptions of Garfield over the years, but the 2024 film will surprisingly be the franchise’s first animated theatrical release. Even though critics haven’t been giving The Garfield Movie great reviews ahead of its May 24 release, it’s expected to be a box office hit (in part due to its family themes, but also because of its stacked cast).
